Born in Hong Kong and now working in Australia, Cryus Tang works with photomedia, mixed-media, video and installation. Her works employ a range of both permanent and transitory materials including clay, water, ash, steam, snow, human’s heartbeat, animal bones, and human hair in her sculpture. The juxtaposition of solid and delicate is suggestive of the the contrast between appearance and disappearance. She works within themes of nostalgia, loss, remembrance and fantasy (1).
