I can’t find an answer, 2003, Jason Benjamin

Oil on canvas, 80cm x 100cm
Provenance: Deutscher and Hackett, Melbourne.

One of Australia’s best regarded young artists, Jason Benjamin describes his landscapes as “romanticised versions of reality” and dreads being called a “photo-realist” painter, even though he does use photographs as reference points. He combines the romantic tradition and love, with the Australian landscape as a primary inspiration. Excellently drawn subjects, beautifully painted tones and rich, mood-inducing colours typify Benjamin’s canvases. Benjamin is a multiple Archibald Prize finalist, with an extensive exhibiting career (1)
