Polish sculptor Maria Kuczynska works to explore the human form in her bronze pieces. In 1975 Kuczynska formed ‘Habitat’, a group of architects and artists collaborating on concepts of humane spaces in Poland. She has held exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney and internationally in Poland, Switzerland, the United States, Germany and Italy. In 2002 Kuczynska was made Lauréate du Prix Bourdelle by the Musée Antoine Bourdelle in Paris. She has received several major commissions, including one from the Family Court of Australia in 1993 (1).
