Douglas Watson was a noted Australian artist, collector and collector in the mid 20th century. Watson was appointed as the official War Artist during the Second World War, and served in the South Pacific. He was the youngest recipient of the Wynne Prize in 1942, which he was awarded again in 1945. His sketches are widely held in collections across Australia (1).
