Experimental contemporary photographer Cynthia Karella, is greatly influenced by the work of Eugene Atget, and the homage he paid to the environment he captured around Versailles. She is inspired to shoot the trees living in a man-made industrial world. Karella proclaims that “there are no failures” in experimental photography, “… you learn along the way and there’s nothing to lose. Finding something is the reward and there’s never any loss” (1).
