Indonesian artist and musician, Soni Irawan has an unusual approach to his works. He combines his formal art education with a background in experimental music, to imbue his works with the energy of rock music. Irawan uses his art to share personal stories around his family, environment and human survival. A street art appearance and spontaneous brushstrokes with unmixed colours are united on his canvasses. A printmaking background also informs the creation of his woodcut prints (1).
